Vintage Teddy Bear

Vintage teddy bears have a long and uniquely American story. They were first created in 1902 when a newspaper published a cartoon in which then-president Teddy Roosevelt saved a bear’s life. A husband and wife merchant couples began making teddy bears under the newly formed company Ideal Novelty and Toy Co.

Teddy bears have been steadily popular for over a century. They are unique in the collectible world because both old and new teddy bears are collectible.
